School Uniforms

There has been an ongoing controversy about school uniforms in many school districts. Are school uniforms good or bad? With uniforms, students would not have to worry about picking out there outfit or getting judged on their clothing by their peers. They promote equality amongst the students on the campus. On the other hand, uniforms hinder the creativity and individuality of kids. Many students express themselves through their clothing and by enforcing uniforms, they would no longer be able to do so. Should school uniforms be enforced? What are some more pros/cons of uniforms in school districts?

  1. I think school uniforms shouldn't be used. The way people dress is a way to express themselves. I think if your in the same uniform everyday there is no individuality. If you are for wearing school uniforms i think you should go to a school that has uniforms, other than that i don't uniforms should be worn at schools.

  2. I think school uniforms should be used. I think it would make my mornings a lot easier by not having to choose an outfit everyday. It would also help the students focus more on school instead of what people are wearing.

  3. This is an interesting topic because without school uniforms students are able to express themselves. However is it really worth the money that would be saved on clothes. When you think about it, kids would just need clothes for going out in their free time.

  4. This is interesting but I think schools should not have dress codes because then everyone is dressed the same and no one can be unique.

  5. It is a very good topic and see both sides. I do think kids need to be able to express themselves though and most do that through how they dress. Noone can really show their individualness if they are wearign the same thing.

  7. I don't think that public schools should have uniforms- I can see both sides of the arguement but I just think that people should be able to wear what they want. Judgement from peers doesn't really stem from clothes, there would be cliques regardless of if there's uniforms or not, so I think people should just be able to dress how they want as long as it fits in with a school's dress code.

  8. I dont think schools should have the rights to make dress codes. It is taking away from your rights and amendments. Kids should be able to express themselves and their will be many problems with a dress code. Also it will cost more because people would need school clothes and then out of school clothes. I think it is a terrible idea.
